The non-combined final examination for a course is scheduled according to class meeting time Monday or Tuesday

The NonCombined final examination for a course is scheduled following the class meeting time on Monday or Tuesday. A grid is posted for each semester to rotate the exams that meet on the later days of the week.

In the example grid below, if a course meets regularly at 10:00 AM on MWF, the examination will be from 8:00-11:00 AM on Monday, May 11. The final examination for a course meeting regularly on TR from 2:30-4:00 PM will be given from 8:00-11:00 AM on Friday, May 15.
In a course having a combination of lecture and discussion and/or laboratory periods, the first lecture hour of the week is considered the first contact of the week for purposes of determining examination time.

For courses with more than one section, the final may not follow this schedule even if the first meeting day is Monday or Tuesday. In the case of multiple sections a combined final may be given. Combined final exams are scheduled with all sections of a course at the same time and are arranged by the department and the Office of the Registrar, Facility Management and Scheduling (FMS).

In addition to non-combined finals and combined finals, there are finals needing extra space, arranged finals for classes which do not meet on Mondays or Tuesdays, and conflict exams. A conflict exam must be given if necessary. Students should follow the guidelines in the Student Code to request a conflict exam. Any College of Education course that meets once a week may have a final examination on the same day and at the same time of the regular class meeting. FMS will make room assignments for all such exams at the request of the Department.

For online courses which do not have a specific meeting pattern, an arranged exam should be requested through FMS.
